Job Title: Police Records, Property and Evidence Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The Police Records, Property and Evidence Technician is a civilian administrative role focused on managing, processing and releasing police records and criminal justice information. The Technician handles sensitive and complex data, often involving state and national databases, and ensures compliance with laws governing the handling of such data. The Technician performs duties such as data entry, report processing, responding to public inquiries and maintaining records, frequently requiring specific knowledge of criminal justice systems and software. The Technician manages the property and evidence that is collected and the system that tracks this function. The Technician serves as a liaison between the Police Department and various other local, state, and federal agencies; and provides other support and assistance to other non-sworn functions and activities of the Police Department. The Technician may participate with other Police Department personnel in a variety of special events throughout the community.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of legal requirements in a number of areas. Frequent training and education are provided by the Town.
This is an in-person position that is not eligible for remote work. Minimum education and training: High School diploma or equivalent. Training for the position will be provided by the Town for the selected candidate. Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain with six months of hire. Must be able to pass background, credit and motor vehicle record checks with results acceptable to the Town. Work experience in positions similar or related to this position. Requires 3 years of administrative support experience in an office setting with customer service, handling confidential information with discretion. Prefer experience supporting senior or executive level management. Consideration will be given for a combination of education and related work experience. This position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement, vacation, sick, holiday pay and flexible work hours. Wage range is $25-$32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This position closes on Monday, September 15 at 8:00 AM.
