Pay: $40.56 Summary: Operate, inspect, and maintain power plant equipment, including boilers, turbines, and auxiliary systems. Participate in hands-on, classroom, and computer training. Complete all training requirements specific to the plant. Perform equipment checks, respond to emergencies, and support Control and Maintenance Specialists. Isolate power sources for inspection and maintenance. Monitor and record equipment conditions, recognize abnormal operations, and initiate trouble reports. Work includes 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Passed Edison Electric Institute exams Prefer post-secondary technical training Valid driver's license Prefer power plant operator experience Must pass Xcel Energy screening (drug test and security clearance) May need to drive off-site (mileage reimbursed) Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 pounds Work in inclement weather Qualified to wear PPE (including respirator) Work from scaffolds and catwalks in high and confined spaces Overtime and rotating shifts are required
