Primary Responsibility
Under the direction of the Program Director for Dental Hygiene, the Clinical & Administrative Coordinator for Dental Hygiene is responsible for providing support to the Dental Hygiene Clinic. This position maintains student records, maintaining efficient and effective clinic operations in a single clinic location to ensure that patients receive the highest quality oral healthcare services possible. Provide excellent customer service and quality care to patients. Responsible for ensuring staff and providers receive exceptional support, maintain inventory, manage any conflicts that arise, and provide overall guidance. Cooperate and support strategic partnership with Mountain family Health Center dental team. Support all documentation and requirements for CODA accreditation standards. Schedule and support Work Study students in fall and spring semesters.
Must have ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with executive level dental hygiene staff, administrative staff, and community agency personnel. Evenings and weekends are required.
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree and three years consistent clinical dental hygiene and/or dental practice experience or an Associate’s Degree and five years related experience, or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. Position requires advanced technical knowledge and skills.
The OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate preferred or willingness to obtain in 3 months required.
Experience in providing support of a dental hygiene clinic or related field and demonstrated competence in higher education administration as it relates to dental program administration preferred.
Special Skills or abilities related to position requires extreme flexibility and cooperation with the MFHC dentist, dental assistant, and the unique strategic partnership. Must have a deep ethical foundation, extreme professionalism, love of dentistry, education, and students. Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities, along with strict adherence to FERPA and HIPAA laws. Responsibility for confirming and scheduling patients. Confidence to collect patient payments. Willing to learn basic dental terminology. Attentive to details and have good organizational skills. Make follow-up calls for treatment and recall. Check and respond to daily emails. Assist with other office duties as requested or needed.

Hiring range = $57,408.39 - $63,787.10 ($27.61 - $30.68 hourly) annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications:
Essential Duties
Oversite of the dental hygiene clinic schedules, ten dental units, sterilization equipment, DH work study students, management of OSHA and HIPAA records and documentation, management of student rotations in sterilization and reception area and laundry management. This role would also manage all clinic supplies ordering and dispensing to students.
Maintain accurate records and submit required student attendance and grade reports by published deadlines
Model professional conduct and enforce student conduct policies as prescribed
Participate in all required convocation activities and graduation events
Maintain required memberships/licensures/certifications per department and accrediting body standards
Assume duties, including committee assignments, over and above assigned classes and office hours as requested by department chair or instructional dean.
Demonstrate commitment to the college through actively participating in CMC & MFH sponsored events and activities beyond assigned classes and office hours as appropriate.
CLINICAL PLACEMENT
Procures clinical placements for all Dental Hygiene students in the dental hygiene program.
Secures the students’ placement in the clinical setting to ensure appropriate placement with the Program and Clinical Lead faculty.
Arrange and maintain required clinical placements for all students in the dental hygiene program.
Collaborate with Director in securing clinical site and coordinating legal agreements.
Maintenance of all clinical contracts.
Adhere to all laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations that govern and affect the program and College.
Certifies the student has all appropriate documentation as required by the course HIPAA, immunizations, , blood borne pathogens, safety regulations and clinical evaluations.
Develops and maintains clinical schedules for the Program.
Manages scheduling conflicts in accordance with rules, regulations and procedures with College, Program and Care Facilities in consultation with Program Director.
Assist in developing program clinical guidelines, standards, and policies.
Monitor, gather and share data to assist with evaluation and assessment of program effectiveness.
Assist in local/regional/national self-study program reviews.
Ensure that all participants maintain current documentation as required by accreditation standards.
Work with Director, full time faculty and adjunct instructors to ensure clinical requirements are met.
Assist in program accreditation.
Represents the Dental Hygiene Program and provides input as needed in the decision-making process for Dental Hygiene education in the clinical setting for placements within the Program and on various committees and task forces.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Performs customary clerical/technical duties in support of the Dental Hygiene Program.
Maintenance of load documents for full time and adjunct faculty.
Oversight of program vendors.
Generates all documentation for new faculty hires and instructs new employees in orientation process.
Arranges keys, computer access, & name badges for new faculty and staff
Maintenance of all fiscal records for operation of generic Dental Hygiene program and monthly review with budget manager.
Consultation with Risk Management as needed.
Maintain extremely high confidentiality requirements - FERPA
Assists in organizing key events: orientation, faculty meetings, committee meetings.
Liaison between book publishers and faculty.
Takes minutes for faculty and PAC meetings as needed.
Effectively communicates with faculty, staff and Director of Dental Hygiene Education via email.
Works with financial aid office to distribute scholarship and tuition waivers to students.
Generates faculty assessment documentation.
Supports all faculty members in scheduling campus meetings: i.e. Admissions and Appeals, Student/faculty Issues, Curriculum, arranges for secretarial support.
supervise work study students.
Management of Dental Hygiene department records and data for Evaluation Plan required by CODA– collection of program data, graduation surveys, employment surveys, employee surveys, student exit surveys, and clinical facility surveys, etc.
Assist with admissions, registrations, processing, and maintenance of student records.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
This position receives general direction from the Program Director of Dental Hygiene and Campus V.P. or designated administrator.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervision of a variety of outside contractors.
Special Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a background check will be required including motor vehicles records report. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. Some evenings and weekends are required.
Working Conditions
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
