Water/Wastewater I Town of Silt is looking for a team player to fill the full-time position at our Water/Wastewater Department. This position is a level I that performs work in the field and at the water and wastewater plant. Work in the field will be on a regular basis including such tasks as meter reading, repairing, fire hydrant maintenance and flushing. Collecting water samples for laboratory testing and arranging delivery of such. Assisting with repairs inside and outside of the plants. Grounds maintenance and general clean up duties. Such employee shall learn the workings of both plants efficiently enough to be worked into the on-call schedule with the other operators at the departments. Complex water process control and quality analysis within a laboratory and plant environment to ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental standards. Work involves responsibility for the care and efficient operation of the water and wastewater treatment plants, and associated distribution/collections systems. Education, training and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Colorado Driver’s License is needed. A willingness to learn the operations and maintenance of water, wastewater, distribution, and collections systems is required. A willingness to obtain any of the disciplinary involved licenses is required. A maintenance or plumbing background is preferred. The ability to read, comprehend and follow directives and written standards of procedure is important. Must have the ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other professionals, operators, and the general public. Salary $50,960.00 to $62,400.00, DOE, plus full benefit package.
