Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment used in site excavation, grading, trenching, and utility installation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of excavation practices and a commitment to safety and precision. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Operate excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery for residential and commercial projects. • Excavate and backfill trenches for utilities, foundations, and drainage systems. • Ensure proper depth, slope, and alignment using grade stakes, laser levels, and blueprints. • Load and move soil, rock, and construction materials as needed. • Perform daily safety checks and routine maintenance on equipment. • Work closely with site supervisors, laborers, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow. • Identify hazards and maintain compliance with company and OSHA safety standards. • Maintain clean and organized job sites. ________________________________________ Qualifications: • 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience in excavation or site work. • Knowledge of soil types and safe excavation techniques. • Ability to read and interpret site plans and utility locates. • Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications: • CDL license is a plus. • Experience with GPS and laser-guided excavation systems. ________________________________________ Pay: • $30-45/hr, depending on experience
