PLANNER I - $63,548 - $85,790 PLANNER II - $69,903 - $94,369 ABOUT THIS POSITION - The Town of Basalt is accepting applications for a Planner I or a Planner II position (DOQ). This position is an important part of the Town’s planning and development services team and performs various professional and technical level planning work on challenging, complex, and/or sensitive planning projects in support of the Town’s Master Plan and administration of the Town’s zoning and subdivision regulations under the supervision of the Planning Director. This exciting opportunity is one of three positions within our building department. This position is an important part of the Town’s building, planning and development services team and is responsible for reviewing and processing building permit applications and associated plans for compliance with applicable building and zoning codes, and coordinates with other town departments, outside review agencies, and applicant representatives. The successful candidate possesses a team-oriented, collaborative and organized working style, with excellent communication skills, the ability to maintain positive relationships, and responsiveness to the community. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university in a construction-related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Plans Examiner – Residential and Commercial ICC certifications required within six months of hire. Valid Colorado Driver’s License required.
