In addition to design, the role includes writing headlines to fit, cutting stories to fit and writing teasers as well as limited copy-editing duties. Page designers also ensure deadlines are met by following an established workflow. Key Responsibilities:•Craft accurate and inviting headlines that catch the reader’s eye.•Create well-designed, well-presented pages following established design styles.•Follow the newsroom workflow to meet all deadlines. Experience/Qualifications: •Proficiency with InDesign •Experience with WordPress or other content management system•Comprehension of English language, grammar and punctuation•Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills•Strong computer knowledge/skills•Ability work nights, weekends, holidays and atypical shifts Compensation:This part-time position is expected to work about 24 hours per week during afternoons and evenings, though hours will fluctuate seasonally. Compensation is $20-$22 based on experience.
