Primary Responsibility
Under the general supervision of the appropriate campus leader, the Bridge Academic Advisor II and Coordinator position encompasses a combination of student services and a leadership role for the ESL/HSD/HSE/ABE instructional programs. English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma (HSD), High School Equivalency (HSE), and Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses make up the Bridge Programs. These courses will be referred to as the Bridge Program in the rest of the document.
The Bridge Academic Advisor II provides student advising, high quality guidance, mentoring, and tools for success in college. Through the course of the students’ college journey, Bridge Academic Advisor II interprets placement assessments, co-creates with students’ comprehensive academic plans based on understanding of program requirements, students’ aptitudes, and propensities, selects courses, and explores transfer options and career pathways. Explain options and next steps for students on academic suspension and probation. The Bridge Advisor II monitors student progress and maintains appropriate records to best assist individual students, as well as provides analytics to guide retention and completion initiatives.
The Bridge Coordinator is responsible for departmental coordination in close collaboration with the Bridge Program Director, and designated campus leadership. Ensures successful and accurate enrollment and registration for Bridge students. Integration and coordination with academic and student services regarding testing, scholarships, and grant management.
The position requires a high level of independent action and technical knowledge focused on enrollment, registration, administrative and support service duties, as well as some knowledge of academic affairs work. Determines procedural methods of work.
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of related experience with a diverse student and adult population; or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. High School and Post-Secondary experience essential. Master’s Degree preferred.
Special Skills or abilities related to position: Knowledge of higher education degree requirements, and current practices and technology utilized in student services. Ability to provide thoughtful academic, transfer and career advising; interpret and analyze placement data and aptitude assessments. Exhibit exceptional verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Effectively speak in public and present educational workshops. Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism. Organize and prioritize work while exercising flexibility and teamwork. Knowledge of a variety of standard administrative and business methods and procedures. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish well. Knowledge of current pedagogical practices and trends in language acquisition and adult basic education.

Hiring range = $66,469.29 - $73,854.77 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications:
Essential Duties
Academic Advisor II (60%)
Delivers academic, career and transfer advising, registration, and general guidance for students under the College’s academic policies and guidelines.
Guides students with problem-solving and goal identification.
Leads retention and recruitment activities.
Keeps detailed and accurate records related to student tracking and reporting.
Communicates professionally and confidentially with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Works as a cooperating and contributing member of the campus team, responding to evolving demographic, technological and community needs, providing leadership and support in the development of new and enhanced student success programs.
Engages in campus collaboration and coordination through maintaining close connections with faculty and academic affairs staff to generate and develop student success and retention initiatives.
Helps coordinate campus events such as orientation, success seminars, and campus visits.
Assists in planning and working graduation.
Builds and maintains relationships with relevant community partners, and attends outreach opportunities in the community
Facilitates student referrals to mental health services.
Supports students in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) pathways, and transitions matriculated students to the appropriate pathways advisor.
Establishes and maintains relationships with local high schools to support the partnership pathways.
In conjunction with the Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator, coordinates assessment of eligible EAP students on campus and at local high schools.
Engages in and collaborates with the Bridge Advisors and Enrollment Specialists group

Bridge Coordinator (40%)
Creates a tone for the first impression of the college by exhibiting positive, engaging, compassionate leadership.
Creates and implements procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness/efficiency such as registration workflows and placement testing operations in compliance of normal student registration standards.
Trouble shoots and problem-solves student or class related issues.
Promotes Customer Service; provides training; Helps develop more efficient and effective systems. Communicate information throughout the department as needed, such as schedule changes, location details, staffing and operational matters. Provides direct support services that may include but are not limited to any of the following: preparing, maintaining, verifying, distributing documents and student records, generating reports.
Assesses and collects fees and tuition in accordance with normal procedures. Oversees, monitors, and disburses scholarship funds in coordination with Foundation, Financial Aid, or other sources.
Works closely with accounts manager to solve issues with student accounts
Monitors and tracks student attendance and enrollment to evaluate student retention and completion for the department, and to ensure compliance with any grant restrictions that may exist.

Supervision Received
This position receives general guidance from designated administrator.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position may serves as a lead to other team members. This position may supervise study students, part time/ full time staff, or program related staff.
Special Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. This position will require regular evening hours, occasional weekend hours, and occasional travel.
Serve in the professional staff on-call rotation throughout the year to respond to emergencies and policy violations in the residence hall. Professional staff on-call must be available to take calls and come to campus quickly for the entirety of their on-call duration.
Working Conditions
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
