
Apprentice electrician 1-4 Pay Range- $25-$35/Hr.
Responsibilities:
Assists Journeyman Electrician: An Apprentice’s primary task is to assist the Journeyman Electrician. This may include being asked to handle tools or perform tasks that require less skill or experience than a journeyman.
Color Vision: Electrical Apprentices must have color vision as they are required to work with colored wiring and must be able to identify by sight.
Troubleshooting: Apprentice Electricians must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions.
Critical Thinking: When diagnosing problems, apprentice electrician must think critically in their process of repairing the issue.
Mechanical Skills: Apprentice electricians read blueprints and schematics and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts.
Qualifications:
First Year Apprentice: Should have 0-2080 hours of on the job experience to advance to a second year apprentice. In addition, they must enroll and successfully complete the first year of schooling with a passing grade.
Second Year Apprentice: Should have 2080-4160 hours of on the job experience to advance to a third year apprentice. In addition, they must enroll and successfully complete the second year of schooling with a passing grade.
Third Year Apprentice: Should have 4160-6240 hours of on the job experience to advance to a fourth-year apprentice. In addition, they must enroll and successfully complete the third year of schooling with a passing grade.
Fourth Year Apprentice: Should have 6240-8320 hours of on the job experience to qualify to become a licensed Journeyman. In additional, they must complete the fourth and final year of schooling with a passing grade to qualify to take the Journeyman Electrician Exam.
