The Town of New Castle seeks qualified and energetic applicants with strong management skills for the positions of Parks Foreman and Parks Irrigation Technician
Parks Foreman.: This highly responsible position provides management and hands on support to enhance the operations, maintenance and special project activities for the Town of New Castle parks. The Parks Foreman will assist with the management and maintenance of Town parks, gardens, trees, and special event set up. The Parks Foreman also manages a seasonal staff of two. Candidates should have knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation maintenance, and staff supervision. This position reports directly to the Parks Manager. Full time/ year-round. Excellent wages and benefit package. $30/hour + DOQ
Parks Irrigation Technician: This highly responsible position provides hands on support to enhance the operations, maintenance, special project, and capital activities for the Town of New Castle park systems. The Irrigation Technician will trouble shoot, repair and maintain the parks irrigation and raw water distribution system. This position will also assist with the management and maintenance of Town parks, gardens, and trees. The Park Irrigation Technician will occasionally assist with the management of a seasonal staff. The Town’s park system consists of approximately 50 acres of irrigated turf and several more acres of native public open space. The Parks Department also manages the maintenance of a 3 mile long irrigation ditch.
Candidates should have knowledge of irrigation maintenance, landscape maintenance, and staff supervision. Full time/ year round. Excellent wages and benefit package. $30/hour + DOQ

Additional Benefits:
Vacation: Accrues at 10 days per year during the first year of employment and increases one day per year of employment up to a maximum of 20 days per year.
Holidays: 10 paid days per year.
Floating Holiday: Employees receive one floating holiday in each anniversary year after completing 365 calendar days of employment.
Sick Leave: Accrues at one day per month.
Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: The Town pays 100% of the employee’s premium and 75% of all eligible dependent’s premium.
Life Insurance: $25,000 for the employee.
Cafeteria Plan: Employees are allowed to purchase Aflac products and to set aside pretax dollars for out-of-pocket medical expenses and dependent care expenses.
Retirement Plan: Employees are required to contribute 4% of their wages to the 401(a) Retirement Plan. The Town matches this amount dollar-for-dollar and the employee is vested in the Town’s match over a five-year period. Fulltime employees may also elect to contribute additional dollars to a 457(b) deferred compensation retirement plan.
